Now, and 1 November 2014…

Main image: a photograph of nature which I took on the road from Cape Town to Hermanus. Nature is so magnificent.

Another poem by Mary Oliver. Her poetry resonates with me.

“I would say that there exist a thousand unbreakable links between each of us and everything else,

And that our dignity and chances are one.

The furthest star and the mud at our feet are a family;

And there is no decency or sense honouring one thing, or a few things then closing the list.

The pine tree, the leopard, the Platte river, and ourselves – we are at risk together,

or we are on our way to a sustainable world together.

We are each other’s destiny.”

A post I found recently.

Journeys of awakening

From Laura, 1 November 2014.

She shared a photograph of Sintra, Portugal, the place she loved in Portugal.

From Laura’s Voice Whispers from an Angel, page 273 and 274. 1 November 2014.

Mother earth, Gaia.

“Respect her and all that she gives us,

food, water, the means to survive.

Yet we pollute her with all our modern technology

and mass production of everything.

Mistreat animals for food, force-feeding them, pumping them with food

so they can be killed sooner

to feed us,

and more.

All that we see is, wow,

but what we don’t see is what matters and what will destroy us in the end.

‘Animals’ is not the word for us…

for animals are better humans than humans!

We are the most intelligent of species yet we are the most destructive.

This is the truth!

(Though there are many people working hard behind the scenes

to create awareness and consciousness.

Thank you to you)!

This is for the people who think life is a joke and a game.

One day you will see the games of the greater scheme in life.

And you will tell yourself

maybe I should have cared.”
