Sunday morning walk

The beauty of a Sunday morning walk on the Sea Point promenade in Cape Town. Driving along the beach road to Sea Point, no cars in front of me, Lion’s Head rising in the mist from the sea. The quiet beauty of nature.

The walk itself, on the residential side, tree tops barely peering out of the mist, like black and white photographs, some houses visible.

The cry of the seagulls and gannets, formations of birds, high in the sky, flying towards their daily feeding grounds. Nature is as it should be…

On the rocks in the sea the usual seabirds are there, and a few African Darters. The pair of black oystercatchers are absent, but the Little White Egret with her yellow shoes was in her favourite spot, where the kayaks go out to sea.

And on my walk towards the sunrise I took some pictures to share with you. We share the same sky, but in different locations in the world.

On my walk I was wearing a pair of Laura’s sunglasses, Parfois, the pair she bought in Qatar. I often wear something that belonged to her, taking her with me. I knew she would enjoy the walk…
